National, European and Global citizenship - 24/4/2013The NGO "European Expression / Evropaiki Ekfrasi" in cooperation with the "Friedrich Naumann Stiftung für die Freiheit", convene the annual session of the European Civil Society Academy on the topic “National, European and Global Citizenship” under the auspices of the “Permanent Forum of European Civil Society” and the support of the “European Commission, Representation in Greece”. The seminar will be held at Anarghyrion College on the island of Spetses, Greece, from June 30 to July 6, 2013. The session provides a forum for high quality academic work and opportunities for networking.
The Anarghyrion College was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by S. Anarghyros and operated until 1981 as a private boarding school, in accordance with the British “Eton model”, for the education of young Greek elites. It is continuing its 90 year pioneering presence in the educational life of Greece, contributing to the preparation of tomorrow’s active citizens, by designing and implementing educational and research programmes of a highly innovative nature. The recently renovated facilities of the College provide an ideal setting for short, intensive and high quality study and research.
The program aims and bringing together young scholars and members of the civil society across Europe engaging them in a fruitful dialogue, sharing experiences and promoting good practices in the related field.
Applicants should be graduates in social sciences. NGO’s experience will be considered as an asset. Applicants should be fluent in English. The application should include the following documents:
- a completed application form;
- curriculum vitae;
- scanned copies of diplomas and
- a letter of recommendation.
The participation fee is 150 EUR and covers:
- shared accommodation in a double occupancy room in Anarghyrion College
- breakfast and dinner,
- excursions, cultural and social activities and extra curricular activities
- common transportation from Athens to Spetses and return
All participants are expected to pay for their own travel to and from Athens.
